About Time and Date Today
Time and Date Today answers the everyday questions about time and dates as directly as possible: today’s date, the exact time, the time anywhere, conversions between zones and formats, and counts of days.
What the site does
Every page starts with its answer, large enough to read across a room, with a copy button next to it. The answer is computed for the place it is about, or for your own time zone, and it stays current while the page is open: dates change at midnight, clocks tick every second, and a page you bookmark today gives tomorrow’s answer tomorrow.
The box at the top of every page understands questions as you would type them, such as “3pm tokyo in london”, “100 days from today”, “week 12” or “julian 2026300”, and answers them as you type. Press / to jump to it.
How the site is organised
The pages fall into six sections, the same six in the menu at the top. Now covers today’s date and the exact time. Zones gives the time anywhere: countries, states, cities and time zones. Convert covers time zones, 12- and 24-hour time and the number formats computers use. Calendar has months, years, week numbers and holidays, and Calculators counts days, weeks and business days. Reference explains the rules behind all of it: weeks in a year, leap years, the Gregorian calendar and the first day of the week. Each page answers one question, and its first screen shows the answer. Below it come a tool to change the question, then the explanation, examples and the questions people ask most.
Why trust the answers
Time zones follow the IANA time zone database, the reference used by every major operating system; we ship release 2026f ourselves instead of relying on the copy in your browser, which can be months old. Dates follow ISO 8601 and the Gregorian calendar, and each page names the rule it uses. The clock is checked against our server every time a page opens, and the result, with its margin of error, is shown at the bottom of the page.
How we keep time explains the methods, and our sources lists every dataset and standard with its version and licence.
What it does not cover
Sunrise and sunset times, moon phases, prayer times and pay dates are not covered. The site is in English; its Islamic (Hijri) date pages also show the date in Arabic script.
No ads, no cookies, cookieless analytics
The site shows no advertising and sets no cookies. Preferences such as dark mode, 12- or 24-hour time and your world clock cities are kept in your own browser and are not sent to us. Pages load no advertising code. To count visits, every page loads one small script for Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool running on our own analytics server rather than a third-party service: it sets no cookies, stores no personally identifiable information, ignores the text after a question mark in addresses and respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, device type and approximate country, in aggregate. The privacy policy and the cookie page give the details.
