What PDT means
PDT stands for Pacific Daylight Time, UTC−7. It is used in the US West Coast and Baja California.
It is a summer time: the daylight saving form of PST (UTC−8), one hour ahead. In Los Angeles it applies from March to October/November: from the second Sunday of March at 2:00 AM to the first Sunday of November at 2:00 AM.
Pacific time after British Columbia’s 2026 change
PST, Pacific Standard Time, is UTC−8; PDT is UTC−7. Until 2026 the zone covered the US West Coast and British Columbia. British Columbia’s clocks went forward on March 8, 2026 for the last time: permanent UTC−7 took legal effect the next day, and the clocks did not go back in November. tzdata 2026f writes that time as MST from November 1, 2026. So in winter Vancouver is one hour ahead of Seattle, and in summer they agree again.
PST also stands for Philippine Standard Time, UTC+8, which is what tzdata uses for Asia/Manila. A “9 AM PST” call can therefore mean two moments 16 hours apart; when the other side is in Manila, ask.
As with Eastern time, PST in summer is usually a slip for Pacific Time. The safe forms are PT, the city name, or an explicit offset.
Where and when PDT is used
2 zones use it for part of the year only, switching back to standard time in the other months. Computed from tzdata under the current rules.

Every column is a fixed offset, so this table is valid on any date. Remember that the regions behind some columns switch to summer time (EST to EDT, CET to CEST, GMT to BST); the clock in those cities is then an hour later than the column.
