What PMDT means

PMDT stands for St. Pierre & Miquelon Daylight Time, UTC−2. It is used in Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

It is a summer time: the daylight saving form of PMST (UTC−3), one hour ahead. In Miquelon it applies from March to October/November: from the second Sunday of March at 2:00 AM to the first Sunday of November at 2:00 AM.

tzdata, the database behind phones and computers, does not use the letters PMDT: it writes UTC−2 for this time. PMDT is the customary or CLDR name, so software may show “UTC−2” or “GMT−2” instead.
