Time zone in Ukraine
Ukraine has 2 different clock settings under the current rules, from EET (UTC+2) in Kyiv to MSK (UTC+3) in Sevastopol. The clock at the top shows the capital, Kyiv, on Eastern European Standard Time (EET, UTC+2) in winter and Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, UTC+3) in summer.
The IANA time zone database divides Ukraine into 2 zones. It needs more zones than there are clock settings because it also records history: two regions that keep the same time today get separate entries if their clocks differed at any point since 1970.
Kyiv lies at 30.5° east, where mean solar time is UTC+2:02 (four minutes per degree of longitude). That is within 2 min of its standard time, so the sun is highest close to noon in winter, and about 1:00 PM in summer.
Daylight saving time in Ukraine
Partly. Regions on Eastern European Time change their clocks; Sevastopol (UTC+3) stays on standard time all year.
In Kyiv clocks move forward one hour on the last Sunday of March at 3:00 AM and back on the last Sunday of October at 4:00 AM (local time).

Clock history of Ukraine
The record begins with local mean time (clocks set by the sun, UTC+2:02 in Kyiv), which ended on December 31, 1879, when KMT (UTC+2:02) replaced it. Between 1970 and 2024, a daylight saving period began in 43 of the 55 years. The first summer time in the record dates from 1941. The table summarises the clocks of Kyiv year by year since 1970, from the tzdata entry Europe/Kyiv.
